Jackson is eating rice cereal! Sort of. You know how it goes (in and out) right? The kids love to help and watch. He's 5 1/2 month old. I figured it was about time to start learning how to swallow and hopefully he'll start going longer between meals. Sleeping through the night would be nice. We got so out of schedule, he's barely been getting back on track. We love and miss you all.

Beauty and the Beast

Makayla's last dance lesson of the summer was last week. They opened the windows and let the parents watch their lesson. All the other lessons are closed to viewing for everyone. Makayla was really attentive in class. She really tried her best to do everything that her teacher asked. She really loves her dance classes, and she does really well. She'll count down the days until her next class each week. She gets embarressed when we ask her to do her dances for us, but sometimes she'll teach me some of her dance moves.
Jackson and I put Isaac to bed every night while Chauntel puts Kayla down. On my way out the other night, he asked for his football. I gave it to him and he wrapped it up like he was heading for the end zone and closed his eyes tight. He was out. He use to always sleep with his football, golf clubs, or anything else sports. I went back in later and got this picture.

playing in the rain

Jeremy took the day off to play in the rain with the kids. They all got in their swim suits and played baseball, football, soccer, and jumped on the trampoline. They had so much fun, that the kids tried to get him to stay home the next day to play in the rain. He couldn't but the kid went out in the rain anyways.

Our Last Swim Lesson

Yesterday was our last day of swim lessons. The kids have done so good. They were both excited to jump off the diving board but when the time came they both freaked out and started crying. We maybe shouldn't have made them but at the time we thought they'd do it and realize it wasn't so bad. I think they're probably more scared of the diving board now than they were. Who knows for sure I guess it's like everyother parenting choice I make daily.

Jackson's Doctor called yesterday with the date of his surgery NOV. 15th. Hopfully this date will work good with Kendall. She's going to stop working right before the surgery and stay for a week to help watch the kids for us. I'm so thankful she'll be here to help.

Jackson definetly loves his feet. The other day he fell asleep holding his foot. A friend from church gave us this toy for Jackson. He seems to really like it. It won't be long before he's crawling. Makayla and Isaac both started crawling around 6months so they've all been about the same developmentally.

So having 3 kids, I've been told, would be the hardest. For the first 4 months of Jackson's life, I wondered what everyone was talking about. He's now a little over 5 months and I totally understand. What happened? I don't know. But, here I am.

WHERE'S MY CAMERA WHEN I NEED IT?

Little big things are happening here. Jackson got up on his hands and knees three times on Saturday night. It was really cute. He's only done it once since Saturday.

The kids are back in swim lessons this week and next. Tuesday after swim lessons, we went to another pool with our play group. Makayla is now swimming under water by herself! She wears goggles and plugs her nose but I can't complain because its so much better than at the start of the summer.

Our duplex has been one adventure after another. We evicted our first tenant this week and have new ones moving in next week. Thank goodness. Three more years here will definitly bring many new adventures. Hopfully we've learned from our mistakes and won't make the same ones twice.

NO pictures!

So grandma and grandpa left about 20 minutes ago and I just was thinking I didn't get any pictures of grandma with the baby or grandpa with the baby or the kids so I hope they did. I know they had their camera out more than I did.

We talked grandma and grandpa into staying two days longer and I'm so glad we did. The 4th was a lot of fun with them here. We went to an Astros game and watched fireworks in Deer Park. It was great. It was so nice to have Jeremy home all day and not have to worry about work or the ward. It feels like it's been a while since he's had a real good break.

Isaac has a little fever and has not been acting himself for the last three or four days. I hope we don't all get sick. Maybe he just needs to catch up on lost sleep and get back into a routine.

So I thought Makayla would enjoy a week break from swim but she keeps asking when she gets to go back to swim lessons. Saturday she was getting a kick out of seeing how long she could hold her breath under water. She's come a long way.

Wish I had some pictures to share. Love you all so much. BYE

We'll Leave the Light on for You

Hotel Logsdon has been busy this last week. We have had so much fun with Grammy and Poppy Logsdon visiting us. They left Wednesday and Grandma and Grandpa Schultz got here that night. We are so blessed to have Grandparents willing to make the drive to see us. Thank you so much. We love showing off our beautiful childern. They are such amazing kids and they don't get to know thier family near enough.

The kids have been in swim lessons the last two weeks. The first day was really sad. Makayla was scared to death to go and Isaac was following her lead. So, I told them the had to go but, they didn't have to do anything they didn't want to. So, they went reluctantly. Little did I know that the swim teachers had a different philosophy of teaching. Makayla cried the whole time and kept asking please, please don't put me under and they kept dunking her. So my good friend Christy was looking out for me and told the manager that I was concerned and they explained their system of teaching and invited me to swim with the class to help my kids adjust. For two days I help them, than they went on their own. I'm very proud of their hard work and improvment. Still, they're very happy to have a week break til next session.

Friday was Jeremy and my 6th anniversary WOW! We went to San Antonio over night. Grammy and Poppy watched the kids (we took the baby) It was so amazing to get away virtual alone. I haven't been back to San Antonio for 5 year. It was just as wonderful as I remember.

Jackson is officially rolling from back to tummy and tummy to back with a little effort. He's also grabbing for things and holding on. (especially to my hair) In his picture he's putting he's foot in his mouth.

About a month ago jeremy pulled this playhouse out of the trash for the kids. He found it in friendwood (about 20minutes away) He had to go to his office and get an empty truck. I'm sure it took him about 2 hours to finally get it home. What a great Dad!

Last Wednesday was Makayla's first dance class. She had such a good time and can't wait for next Wednesday. However the night before dance class, she started to complain about her stomach aching. The next morning she woke up at her normal time but than complained about her tummy and went back to bed for and hour. I made her go to the gym and than swimming but when we got home she complained about her tummy again so she took and nap (which she doesn't do anymore) She slept about and hour and than wanted to to lay down with her and hold her and she slept another hour. She didn't have a fever, diarhea, runny nose and she hadn't thrown up. About an hour before dance she got up we got her ready (she won't eat dinner) She went to dance and than she was fine. We truly believe she was so nervous, worried, and excited that she made herself sick. That is Makayla. She wants to do things and have fun but she so scared to do new things and worries so much. Hence being scared of swings, bugs, cats, dogs, and the dark. (She loves to swing now that she's older.)

Happy Birthday Isaac

We had fun at Isaac's Birthday party. It was at a kiddie pool. The pictures are of Isaac and his little friend Abby, opening gifts, batting (Dad has him put on his mean face to hit the ball) and a picture of Makayla and Audrey. We were outside for about 31/2 hours. I put sunblock on the kids three or four times and on myself 2 or 3 times. I still feel burnt and Isaac looks red. I kept the baby in the shade as much as possible and kept his hat on. I was pretty worried about having him out for that long. He did well though.

Jeremy and I got to go on two dates this weekend. Kendall watched the kids friday and we went to Applebees and Saturday night we got a babysitter and went out with Jeremy's salesmen to Zios. So friday was free babysitter and Saturday was free dinner. It's always nice to spend time with Jeremy. It doesn't happen near enough but this weekend was a real treat, for us all.

Astros

We went to an Astros game on Monday night. We played the Cubs. They absolutely creamed us. Their pitcher almost pitched a no hitter. I think we had one hit in the 8th inning. So not much action. It made for a short game, which allowed us to stay the whole game even with kids. Kendall went with us. It was great to have her there to help us.

Yesterday (Tues) it was in the 90's so I took the kids swimming with some friends. We had to drive to three different pools before we found one that would let us in. They were all filled to capacity. The kids were so upset everytime we had to leave without swimming. We eventually found a pool and the kids had a great time. The pool we got into is the same one they'll have lessons at in a few weeks.

Jackson have four shots yesterday. He wieghs 11lbs. 15oz. under the 5%. He's 24.3 inches long 25% and under the 5% for his head. My doctor called the nureosurgeon and Cranial facial specialist when I told him we did not understand why they were wanting to wait so long. That was really great of him. He's really been on the ball and proactive for us. So I got a call yesterday from the nureosurgeons nurse. We need to set up an appointment with an optimologist and a prostectic specialist. The optimologist will check his eye sight before and after surgery. The prostectic specialist will measure his head for a helmet. We didn't know that he'd have to wear a helmet after surgery, but they told us yesterday that he would. We also have to set up for two adults with the baby's blood type to donate blood for the surgery. They'd like to do the surgery early November, but they have to schedule it with both doctors and the facilities. Then they'll get back to me and set up a pre-op visit the Tuesday before his surgery. So basiclly in one phone call we learned more than both visits to the doctors. I feel pretty good about everything now.

While Jackson was getting his shots, the nurse asked me to hold Jacksons hands while she held the feet. With out hesitation Isaac ran over and grabbed Jackson's hand. It was so sweet. But as soon as they gave him his first shot, Isaac covered his mouth in astonishment and back pedaled away from the baby. Within seconds Isaac, Makayla, and Jackson were all crying. I didn't know who to comfort first. It was sad but we got through it.

Melissa Webster (My sister-in-law went into labor last night) 6 weeks early. Her water broke before 9 pm and now at 11:55 am she still hasn't had the baby. I hope she's doing ok. We're so excited for her. They're naming the baby Evan.

A Little Bummed

I'm a little bummed out this morning. Jackson Doctor's office gave me a call. They want me to call in August and make an appointment for Jackson's surgery at around one year. Jeremy and I were both pretty glad when they told us they thought 6 months would be good. So to wait till he's a year old was like a punch in the stomach. Jeremy said he'd call the doctor and talk with him. I guess we just have to keep praying that the doctors know what they're doing. And ask lots of questions.

racing, swimming, and sniffles

Jeremy and I ran the Astros 5K on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. Our friends Christie and Joe ran with us. I was a little nerve about running because I havn't ran 3 miles/outside in quite a while. We didn't walk any of it. Jeremy probably could have gone a little faster, but he stuck with me the whole time.

Kendall watched the kids and met us down at minute maid stadium. There was lots of food and a band playing music. After the ran we went swimming it was a fun day with the family. Makayla is getting used to the water and will almost try anything as long as she has floaties on. Isaac likes to stay in the shallow end of the pool and play.

Jeremy and I started to feel alittle sick the morning of the race and now we are very sick. Makayla was stuffed up last week than Isaac and now even the baby is sick. So, we all stayed home from church today. And are just taking it easy. Makayla is completely bored because she's feeling alot better and we're all wanting to take naps.

NEW JAMEES

The kids got new jamees from Grammy Logsdon today. They love new jamees. They'll probably wear them everynight for a few months. They even search the dirty and clean clothes hampers for them.

LETS PARTY

LIKE I SAID WE GO TO A LOT OF PARTIES DURING THE SUMMER. WE HAD TWO ON SATURDAY BUT COULD ONLY MAKE IT TO ONE.

KENDALL AND I WERE TALKING ABOUT THE PLAY APRONS WE HAD AS KIDS AND IT INSPIRED ME TO MAKE ONE AS A BIRTHDAY GIFT. IT TURNED OUT PRETTY CUTE AND WAS SOOOO EASY TO MAKE. I THINK I MIGHT START MAKING THEM FOR ALL THE LITTLE GIRL PARTIES WE GO TO.

I THINK JACKSON IS PROBABLY THE BEST LITTLE BABY IN THE WHOLE WORLD (NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE) HE'S BEEN SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT FOR THE LAST, LIKE THREE WEEKS. HE USUALLY TAKES GREAT NAPS AND IS ONLY EATING EVERY 3 TO 4 HOURS ITS KIND OF FREAKING ME OUT. HAVING ANOTHER BABY HAS BEEN SOOOO MUCH FUN. I WON'T CHANGE A SINGLE THING IN MY LIFE RIGHT. WELL I MIGHT LIKE IT IF MAKAYLA AND ISAAC WOULD LISTEN TO ME AND OBEY 1 OUT OF THE 50 THINGS ASK THEM TO DO EVERYDAY WITHOUT SOME SORT OF GENTLE NUG OF INCOURAGMENT. (THREATS OF NAUGHTY MAT)

JACKSON HAS BEEN ROLLING OVER A LOT LATELY BUT IT SEEMS AS IF HE HAS FORGOTTEN HOW. TODAY HE KEPT TRY AND JUST COULD FIGURE IT OUT EVEN WITH ALL HIS GRUNTING. TODAY IN SUNDAY SCHOOL HE WAS GETTING RESTLESS. JEREMY AND I BOTH TOOK TRYS STANDING UP WITH HIM IN THE BACK OF THE ROOM. THEN I TOLD JEREMY TO TRY PUTTING HIM ON THE FLOOR TO ROLL AROUND. AS SOON AS WE PUT HIM DOWN HE COULDN'T STOP TALKING AND SMILING AT US. IT WAS THE CUTEST THING EVER.

MAKAYLA IS SO EXCITED ABOUT DANCE AND SWIMMING LESSONS. I CAN'T HELP BUT FEEL HER EXCITMENT TOO. IT SHOULD BE A LOT OF FUN THIS SUMMER. WE'VE BEEN SWIMMING TWICE THIS SUMMER. I'VE BEEN SUPRISED AT HOW BRAVE MAKAYLA'S BEEN AND HOW TIMID ISAAC'S BEEN.

summers are full of birthday parties

Tuesday night we went to a friends birthday party. The kids loved it. It was at a place called monkey bussiness. It had a bunch of moon walk toys for the kids to play in and a rock wall to climb. Makayla pretty good at rock climbing and enjoys it until she get to high than she gets a little worried. She's a lot like her mom.

Jackson fell asleep in the middle of the living room I was just going to leave him there but the kids stepped on him twice.

Notice Anything Different

Makayla gave herself bangs today. I was in the shower ( it's either when I'm in the shower or feeding the baby that all mishaps happen and the house gets bulldosed) She's been asking for me to cut bangs and to cut her hair in a bob for the last year. I guess she was sick of waiting for me to agree. It's not so bad except they're way too thick. I'll have to grow 2/3 of them out again, what a nightmare it is to grow out bangs. She sure does think she's hot stuff now though. It could have been worse, like when Jillian or was it Bailey cut all their bang off.

We met Dr. Megahed

Today we took Jackson to see Dr. Megahed. He's Jackson's nerosugeon. He thinks it would be O.K. to operate on Jackson at 6 months. That's only 3 months away. He's going to call and discuss it with Jackson's plastic surgeon, than give us a call. (the dr. said they do surguries like this one, a couple a times a month) which is more common than I thought. He told us that we caught it early on and that it's less surver than most his other cases.

It would be nice, for our nerves, to do the surgury in 3 months instead of 6. But it almost seems too near. He's 3month now and it's flown by so fast so I'm sure the next 3 months will come quickly also.

New Computer

Sorry it's been awhile since my last posting. We had to get a new computer. Ours finially crashed to the point of not fixing it anymore. It was a bummer. Our computer was only 3 years old. I hope we don't have to replace our computers every 3 years, that could get really expensive.

Jackson got his first hair cut this week. He had so many bald patchs. I couldn't stand it any longer and just gave it a little trim. I'm tempted to give him another one.

Jeremy and Makayla have been getting Jackson to really laugh good lately. It's so cute. He snorts everytime. I think it's cause his nose is so crooked. He snorts when his excited, laughs, or is upset.

I've been going to the gym all this week it's been so nice. It's my hour and a half break everyday. It's the only break I get with the kids not taking naps anymore. Christy and another friend have been meeting me there. I'm pretty sure, I'm really going to struggle with the 5 K in two weeks but it'll be worth it.

We went swimming today. I forgot to take pictures. It was beautiful out (just a little breezy) The pool was freezing. It will warm up later in the summer. Makayla was so brave. She was swimming all over the pool ( with floaties on of course ) Isaac was a little scared if we tried to get him to float in the deep end. It was a lot of fun. Swim lesson at the public pools start in June we're going to put them both in lessons. Ballet starts in June also, for Makayla. She's so excited. She's been packing her ballet bag and school bag everyday.

This is the Easter picture of Jackson. The only one who would pose for the camera because he was asleep. Well If you're visiting our blog for the first time, I'm sure it's because Jeremy has been tell everyone he knows about our blog. There's a lot of pressure now to keep it current. The only problem is that I don't take enough pictures of the kids. Really, that's all people care about, are the pictures. I will continue to try and keep it current.

Life is sort of getting back to normal. Makayla's bored out of her mind at home all day with mom and Isaac teases her mercilessly. I don't think my floors have been mopped in at least a week.

Tonight Makayla said "I can't wait to have another baby. I just love babies." It was really cute but there's no chance of that happening soon. She'll just have to wait a little longer for another baby.

Tonight the whole family went outside and played baseball. Isaac is such a natural. Jeremy is so used to Isaac being so good that he won't really give Makayla a chance (much at first) but now she's hitting line drives at the pitcher (Jeremy) and sliding into first. It's so great to watch everyone having fun. I think it's the greatest feeling in the whole world. Even Jackson enjoys being outside and hearing everyone laughing, until it started raining on us.

Jeremy's sales men are here for the summer now. He only has 7 guys this year. I can't say I'm very sad about that at all. Hopefully he won't be as busy as he has been the last 4 summers. Last year he has 14 guys.
