THANK YOU

Thank you to everyone who pledged our kids bike-a-thon. What a neat experience it was for them. We've collected almost all the pledges. We have $422 in cash and more that people donated through their tithing slips (about $75 more) Almost $500. That's not counting what our friends raised.

It was really neat to hear that the church is sending out 600 temporary homes to Haiti. With cement for foundations, hurricane straps, wood walls, and tin roofs. I'm so happy to hear all the amazing things the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is doing to help out in Haiti. The kids enjoy hearing about it and knowing that their helping.

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP EVERYONE!

Let is snow let it snow let it snow!!!!

I can't believe how much snow we've gotten the last three days. It's completely crazy. Jeremy took the kids sledding. I stayed home because I'm not feeling good. They had a great time. School was cancelled today because of the snow. Isaac was so excited. Well all the kids were, but Isaac was extremely happy.

(you can tell Jackson was cold and ready to go home, poor baby)

Happy Birthday Jackson

Jackson turned 4 on Wed the 10th. He's been telling me that he was going to get a blow up helmet for his birthday, so I'm glad I found one for him. He wants me to figure how to sew a tunnel through the middle so he can run through it like a football player. I don't know how I'm going to do it, but I'll try. Hopefully I don't ruin it.
We down loaded University of Texas Longhorns fight song. So I play it while he plays in the helmet:) It's really cute.

We went bowling for his birthday. He loves bowling. If I would set up pins for him he would bowl all day. sometimes he gets out cups and bowls with them:)

He also got roller skates. Makayla got some for Christmas and Jackson loves wearing hers around the house. So I got him his own pair. However his look deadly. It makes me nervous when he wears them. He did really well with Makayla's that are huge. I just thought he'd do better with ones that fit him (wrong)

Our Mighty Mustang

Isaac was the mighty mustang this week. He's been trying really hard at school and is doing really good. We're so proud of him.

bike a thon

here is emo setting up the cones for the laps. there was an activity going on at the church, so we had to "rope off" an area to set the course. after jackson's 20 laps in the cart, he got out and did some of his own also. scroll down for all the bike a thon pics

here are some more pictures. the first one is of isaac making one of his many calls to people asking them, "did you hear what happened in haiti? will you help me with something?" makayla was always tallying the numbers to see how much we had. she was always keeping us posted. everyone had a great time. isaac did have a reality check on lap 5 when all of a sudden we looked up and he was stopped. of course mom came to the rescue and bundled him up, gave him her gloves, then he was off again. the kids got the montano family and makayla's friend, jill, in the effort also. isaac is holding his first donation he received after the race. the mclellan's came out and rooted us on half way through and gave isaac their money. thanks to them for their cheering!

BIKE-A-THON!

this morning was our bike-a-thon (see one of our previous posts to learn more about it). it was soooo cold. i don't think we planned on that. we had a good time. i'm so happy for the kids and their efforts. all the big kids finished their 20 laps and the two little ones got a 20 lap ride. after our bike-a-thon we went to chick fil a. all together i think combined we got just over $350. we want to thank everyone who helped contribute to the bike a thon. the kids got so excited as they got the momentum rolling with everyone's pledges. the kids made all the calls to explain what we were doing and ask for their help. they also knocked doors in the neighborhood and asked for help also. everyone was so kind and gracious with their support. isaac especially couldn't contain his excitement. as we were trying to get him to bed the other night, he just kept asking to call one more person and said, "this is so fun!" we'll continue to keep our kids posted on the relief efforts that are going on in haiti and let them know that they certainly had a hand in helping the people down there.

HAITI RELIEF BIKE-A-THON

Hello Neighbors,
Our kids wanted a way that they could help the people of Haiti so we thought it would be fun for them to find a way to earn their own money to donate. Since they're kids and don't have a lot of ways to earn money, we thought a bike-a-thon would be right up their alley. We're asking for pledges for each lap they finish on Saturday Feb. 6th @ 10:30a.m. We're going to have a track set up around our church parking lot where the kids will be timed and their laps counted. We will be doing 20 laps.

ex) if you donate $.25 a lap and they finish all 20 laps, that would be $5.00. If you pledge $.15 a lap and they only finish 15 laps then that would be $2.25. You get the idea.

Our goal is to earn a little money and then donate it. The way we have chosen to donate is through our church's humanitarian program. If you go to www.newsroom.lds.org, there are articles on all the things being done by this program. 100% will go to Haiti relief since this is a non-profit organization.

Thank you for helping us in our efforts to teach our children that no matter how old you are, you can serve and make a difference. God bless you and remember to keep the people and children of Haiti in your prayers.

The Logsdon Family

this activity is on our own and not endorsed by any church or organization.

SO THIS IS THE LETTER WE PASSED OUT TO A FEW NEIGHBORS. WE'RE SO EXCITED TO HAVE A LITTLE BIKE-A-THON WITH A FEW OTHER FAMILIES WE KNOW. OUR KIDS WANTED TO INVITE THEIR BEST FRIENDS FAMILIES TO DO IT WITH US.

OUR GOAL IS $100!!!! ISAAC IS ON FIRE!!!!! MAKAYLA'S A LITTLE SHY ABOUT ASKING. SHE SAID THAT SHE'LL ASK HER TEACHERS AND PRINCIPLES.

IF ANYONE'S INTERESTED IN PLEDGING THE KIDS JUST LET US KNOW.
