Happy Birthday Makayla

Makayla had her birthday party on Saturday. It was going to be a pool party but it rained. I didn't have a back up so we went to the dollar movie theater to see Over the Hedge. Isaac threw up right outside the theater so he and Jeremy went home and we stayed for the movie. The whole day was a little unorganized but Makayla had a good time. Jeremy got her a CD player which she loves and takes with her from room to room. Sunday she played children's hymns around the house. It was so nice to have music playing.

She made and decorated her own cake, with a little help from mom. Isn't it cute?

The picture of Isaac is with his new lunch box. He takes it everywhere.

First Day of School

makayla had her first day of school and her birthday on tuesday. it was a very exciting day. she loves school. yesterday she was in charge of bringing a treat for everyone and today was show and tell. she took a map of the U.S. to show everyone where washington, kentucky, and texas are. she was letting everyone know where her family is and where she's from. I think she may even show everyone where her daddy went on a mission. one of these pictures is of her first day. she's wearing a new outfit and backpack from grammy and a new lunch box from mommy. the other pics are of isaac. he fell asleep in jackson's crib (he's been doing that a few times lately). the other picture is of jackson getting into the dishwasher while i unload. he's into everything. right now he's under the computer, removing everything.

FIRST TOOTH!

Jackson got his first tooth on (maybe) monday. I didn't even know it was coming and then all the sudden (bam) there it was.

Last night we went to a meet your teacher open house at Makayla's school. It was so exciting to watch Makayla find her seat, cubby, and show her all around the classroom and school. It's a very small school so it didn't take long. After the open house, we went to dinner with the three last salesman that are still here. Today was their last day. It will be nice for the summer to be over and things to slow down alittle for Jeremy. It usually takes until Oct. for things to really slow down but it's still really nice when all the salesmen finially leave.

We were out til 10 though. The kids usually go to sleep at 7 but have really been staying out late lately. With school starting we'll really have to get back on schedule. Which means I have to get my sleepy head out of bed alittle earlier.

FAMILY PHOTOS

sorry its taken a few days to post these. i kept being taken from the computer and forgetting what i was doing until it was to late and i had been kick off the site.

for those of you who don't know, i'm so bad at getting family pictures taken. my kids refuse to get them done anywhere but outside by and friend or family member and even then there's a slim chance of everyone cooperating

WE WENT TO THE PARK YESTERDAY AND TOOK FAMILY PICTURES FINIALLY. I THINK WE HAD ONE TURN OUT. I CAN'T DOWNLOAD THEM TIL JEREMY BRINGS THE CAMERA CORD THINGY HOME. I KNOW THE ANTICIPATION IS GOING TO KILL YOU ALL.

JACKSON IS STANDING UP TO EVERYTHING NOW. HE WON'T FALL ASLEEP NOW BECAUSE HE KEEPS STANDING UP AND GETTING STUCK. IT MAKES ME NERVOUS WITH ALL THE TILE AND HARDWOOD IN OUR PLACE THAT HE'S GOING TO FALL AND HURT HIMSELF. I NEED TO REMEMBER TO TAKE HIS SOCKS OFF OF HIM AND NOT TO PUT HIM IN P.J.'S WILL BOOTIES SO HE WON'T SLIP.

STAY TUNE FOR FAMILY PICTURES. I'VE HEARD YOU CAN DOWNLOAD PHOTOSHOP (OR A PROGRAM LIKE IT) FOR FREE FROM THE NET. IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW LET ME KNOW. THEN I CAN EDIT AND CROP OUR PHOTOS.

so, last saturday, jeremy and i decided to paint the bathroom. it took all day. that evening when i went to peel the tape off all the white paint peeled off with the tape. if you look in the top right of the photo you can see the peeling paint. what a bummer. we worked all day and now we don't know the best and easiest way to fix the mess it's made. if you check out the bottom right you can see cuttie kayla being sneaky.

so my best friend in texas moved to idaho last night. christie hall has been my workout partner for the last two and half years. we've ran in the annual astros 5k the last three years together. her husband graduated and got a good job offer in boise, idaho. it was really sad makayla cried all the way home from their house last night and then cried herself to sleep. this morning i went to the gym knowing that christie wouldn't be there. anyways we hope they love it there. both of their families are in texas so this was really hard for them and they just found out that she is expecting another child. it will be number 5 for them so they'll fit in really well in idaho.

three other friend of mine with young kids moved this month also. makayla will be the only kid in her primary class with no kids in the class above hers and one in the class below hers. isaac will have only two other kids in nursry. It feels like our ward is dying a little. I'm sure new people will move in but its still sad.

half our ward goes to the same gym so i'll be alright

mama

so call me crazy but i think jackson is saying mama. i don't know when babies start talking but everyone here has heard it and i got it on video. i wouldn't believe it but he says it when he's crying. which is exactly how it is with kids right? they're great for everyone but mom and every word they udder to mom is while crying or wining. J/K but almost true.

i buzzed jacksons hair a few days ago. this is the only picture i have down loaded of his new due.

here's a picture of isaac for grandma

heres the pictures i was trying to upload to my last post. these pictures are of jackson crawling, getting into my laundry baskets, eating carrots, and being taken care of by sissy. jackson stood up to the laundry and than wasn't able to get down. the next day he stood up to a toy box and couldn't get down. he was screaming until i went to check on him. my kids are the worst at getting in to the clean laundry and throwing them everywhere so they can play cars in the baskets.

i don't know if i've ever mentioned how much i dislike dealing with health insurance and making doctors appointments. everything is so confusing and they're always so slow at dealing with claims. i won't be surprise if we get sent to collection for a bill we've never recieved and aren't even responsible to pay for.

makayla is becoming such a fish in the water. she wants to go swimming everyday. it's kind of hard with three kids but i usually trick someone into going with me (poor kendalls had her fair share of dealing with my kids at the pool.) she's now jumping into the pool and diving for toys and than swimming to the edge.

jeremy and i have been looking at vans. (online) we aren't brave enough to go test drive yet. sometimes we are such wimps when it comes to buy things. we like the honda odysses. maybe by december we'll commit to buying one.

we went to the children's museum today. which is always alot of fun. i don't know why i don't go more often.

jeremy is planning a BBQ for all of his employees.(25 people at least+family) it should be pretty fun. he bought sooo much meat. he could feed the whole ward. i'm trying to plan some other food but if jeremy had it his way it would be only steak, steak, and more steak.

BAH BAH BAH

Jackson said his first word tonight:) Jeremy always calls the boys bud or buddy bud bud. While I was feeding the baby sweet potatoes tonight, Jeremy was getting him to laugh and calling him buddy bud bud. So Jackson would laugh and then say b b b bud b b b bud and then laugh again. It was the cutest thing. We got it on video and tried to call family and get him to do it for them. That never works. We did get proof on video though.

He's crawling now but not very well. I gave him a buzz cut with clippers a few days ago and now I miss his spikey hair.

Jeremy played his first gig Friday night at a priest laurel activity with two other bishops in the stake. They all sing and play guitars. So they got together and practiced a few times. He got most of it on video for me and the kids to see. He did great and said it ranked up there with the top 10 things he's done in his life. I hope marrying me and having the kids rank somewhere up in the top 10 also.

Makayla starts ballet up again tomorrow. It's a lot of fun watching your kids be excited for something and do things without you and see them socialize without mom by their side. School starts on the 5th (her birthday!) Happy Birthday to her. I'm very nervous about getting her to school on time. It will be a great challenge.

The baby went 12 hours without eating. He seemed to get a great sleep while I on the other hand was partly wanting him to wake up and eat. He was making me nervous. If I could just get him to make up his mind and be consistent.

So my kids are the very worst kids in the whole ward. Isn't that how it is, the Bishop's kids are always the worst. I was pretty bad on Sunday in sacrament meeting. They love to run around the chapel and sit with different people and run from me and then I have to drag two kids out who are causeing a scene. It's the highlight of my week. Sacrament is worth the pain though. I get two hours in Sunday school and then young women's it's such a great break.

Jackson is eating rice cereal! Sort of. You know how it goes (in and out) right? The kids love to help and watch. He's 5 1/2 month old. I figured it was about time to start learning how to swallow and hopefully he'll start going longer between meals. Sleeping through the night would be nice. We got so out of schedule, he's barely been getting back on track. We love and miss you all.

Beauty and the Beast

Makayla's last dance lesson of the summer was last week. They opened the windows and let the parents watch their lesson. All the other lessons are closed to viewing for everyone. Makayla was really attentive in class. She really tried her best to do everything that her teacher asked. She really loves her dance classes, and she does really well. She'll count down the days until her next class each week. She gets embarressed when we ask her to do her dances for us, but sometimes she'll teach me some of her dance moves.
Jackson and I put Isaac to bed every night while Chauntel puts Kayla down. On my way out the other night, he asked for his football. I gave it to him and he wrapped it up like he was heading for the end zone and closed his eyes tight. He was out. He use to always sleep with his football, golf clubs, or anything else sports. I went back in later and got this picture.

playing in the rain

Jeremy took the day off to play in the rain with the kids. They all got in their swim suits and played baseball, football, soccer, and jumped on the trampoline. They had so much fun, that the kids tried to get him to stay home the next day to play in the rain. He couldn't but the kid went out in the rain anyways.

Our Last Swim Lesson

Yesterday was our last day of swim lessons. The kids have done so good. They were both excited to jump off the diving board but when the time came they both freaked out and started crying. We maybe shouldn't have made them but at the time we thought they'd do it and realize it wasn't so bad. I think they're probably more scared of the diving board now than they were. Who knows for sure I guess it's like everyother parenting choice I make daily.

Jackson's Doctor called yesterday with the date of his surgery NOV. 15th. Hopfully this date will work good with Kendall. She's going to stop working right before the surgery and stay for a week to help watch the kids for us. I'm so thankful she'll be here to help.

Jackson definetly loves his feet. The other day he fell asleep holding his foot. A friend from church gave us this toy for Jackson. He seems to really like it. It won't be long before he's crawling. Makayla and Isaac both started crawling around 6months so they've all been about the same developmentally.

So having 3 kids, I've been told, would be the hardest. For the first 4 months of Jackson's life, I wondered what everyone was talking about. He's now a little over 5 months and I totally understand. What happened? I don't know. But, here I am.

WHERE'S MY CAMERA WHEN I NEED IT?

Little big things are happening here. Jackson got up on his hands and knees three times on Saturday night. It was really cute. He's only done it once since Saturday.

The kids are back in swim lessons this week and next. Tuesday after swim lessons, we went to another pool with our play group. Makayla is now swimming under water by herself! She wears goggles and plugs her nose but I can't complain because its so much better than at the start of the summer.

Our duplex has been one adventure after another. We evicted our first tenant this week and have new ones moving in next week. Thank goodness. Three more years here will definitly bring many new adventures. Hopfully we've learned from our mistakes and won't make the same ones twice.

NO pictures!

So grandma and grandpa left about 20 minutes ago and I just was thinking I didn't get any pictures of grandma with the baby or grandpa with the baby or the kids so I hope they did. I know they had their camera out more than I did.

We talked grandma and grandpa into staying two days longer and I'm so glad we did. The 4th was a lot of fun with them here. We went to an Astros game and watched fireworks in Deer Park. It was great. It was so nice to have Jeremy home all day and not have to worry about work or the ward. It feels like it's been a while since he's had a real good break.

Isaac has a little fever and has not been acting himself for the last three or four days. I hope we don't all get sick. Maybe he just needs to catch up on lost sleep and get back into a routine.

So I thought Makayla would enjoy a week break from swim but she keeps asking when she gets to go back to swim lessons. Saturday she was getting a kick out of seeing how long she could hold her breath under water. She's come a long way.

Wish I had some pictures to share. Love you all so much. BYE

We'll Leave the Light on for You

Hotel Logsdon has been busy this last week. We have had so much fun with Grammy and Poppy Logsdon visiting us. They left Wednesday and Grandma and Grandpa Schultz got here that night. We are so blessed to have Grandparents willing to make the drive to see us. Thank you so much. We love showing off our beautiful childern. They are such amazing kids and they don't get to know thier family near enough.

The kids have been in swim lessons the last two weeks. The first day was really sad. Makayla was scared to death to go and Isaac was following her lead. So, I told them the had to go but, they didn't have to do anything they didn't want to. So, they went reluctantly. Little did I know that the swim teachers had a different philosophy of teaching. Makayla cried the whole time and kept asking please, please don't put me under and they kept dunking her. So my good friend Christy was looking out for me and told the manager that I was concerned and they explained their system of teaching and invited me to swim with the class to help my kids adjust. For two days I help them, than they went on their own. I'm very proud of their hard work and improvment. Still, they're very happy to have a week break til next session.

Friday was Jeremy and my 6th anniversary WOW! We went to San Antonio over night. Grammy and Poppy watched the kids (we took the baby) It was so amazing to get away virtual alone. I haven't been back to San Antonio for 5 year. It was just as wonderful as I remember.

Jackson is officially rolling from back to tummy and tummy to back with a little effort. He's also grabbing for things and holding on. (especially to my hair) In his picture he's putting he's foot in his mouth.

About a month ago jeremy pulled this playhouse out of the trash for the kids. He found it in friendwood (about 20minutes away) He had to go to his office and get an empty truck. I'm sure it took him about 2 hours to finally get it home. What a great Dad!

Last Wednesday was Makayla's first dance class. She had such a good time and can't wait for next Wednesday. However the night before dance class, she started to complain about her stomach aching. The next morning she woke up at her normal time but than complained about her tummy and went back to bed for and hour. I made her go to the gym and than swimming but when we got home she complained about her tummy again so she took and nap (which she doesn't do anymore) She slept about and hour and than wanted to to lay down with her and hold her and she slept another hour. She didn't have a fever, diarhea, runny nose and she hadn't thrown up. About an hour before dance she got up we got her ready (she won't eat dinner) She went to dance and than she was fine. We truly believe she was so nervous, worried, and excited that she made herself sick. That is Makayla. She wants to do things and have fun but she so scared to do new things and worries so much. Hence being scared of swings, bugs, cats, dogs, and the dark. (She loves to swing now that she's older.)

Happy Birthday Isaac

We had fun at Isaac's Birthday party. It was at a kiddie pool. The pictures are of Isaac and his little friend Abby, opening gifts, batting (Dad has him put on his mean face to hit the ball) and a picture of Makayla and Audrey. We were outside for about 31/2 hours. I put sunblock on the kids three or four times and on myself 2 or 3 times. I still feel burnt and Isaac looks red. I kept the baby in the shade as much as possible and kept his hat on. I was pretty worried about having him out for that long. He did well though.

Jeremy and I got to go on two dates this weekend. Kendall watched the kids friday and we went to Applebees and Saturday night we got a babysitter and went out with Jeremy's salesmen to Zios. So friday was free babysitter and Saturday was free dinner. It's always nice to spend time with Jeremy. It doesn't happen near enough but this weekend was a real treat, for us all.

Astros

We went to an Astros game on Monday night. We played the Cubs. They absolutely creamed us. Their pitcher almost pitched a no hitter. I think we had one hit in the 8th inning. So not much action. It made for a short game, which allowed us to stay the whole game even with kids. Kendall went with us. It was great to have her there to help us.

Yesterday (Tues) it was in the 90's so I took the kids swimming with some friends. We had to drive to three different pools before we found one that would let us in. They were all filled to capacity. The kids were so upset everytime we had to leave without swimming. We eventually found a pool and the kids had a great time. The pool we got into is the same one they'll have lessons at in a few weeks.

Jackson have four shots yesterday. He wieghs 11lbs. 15oz. under the 5%. He's 24.3 inches long 25% and under the 5% for his head. My doctor called the nureosurgeon and Cranial facial specialist when I told him we did not understand why they were wanting to wait so long. That was really great of him. He's really been on the ball and proactive for us. So I got a call yesterday from the nureosurgeons nurse. We need to set up an appointment with an optimologist and a prostectic specialist. The optimologist will check his eye sight before and after surgery. The prostectic specialist will measure his head for a helmet. We didn't know that he'd have to wear a helmet after surgery, but they told us yesterday that he would. We also have to set up for two adults with the baby's blood type to donate blood for the surgery. They'd like to do the surgery early November, but they have to schedule it with both doctors and the facilities. Then they'll get back to me and set up a pre-op visit the Tuesday before his surgery. So basiclly in one phone call we learned more than both visits to the doctors. I feel pretty good about everything now.

While Jackson was getting his shots, the nurse asked me to hold Jacksons hands while she held the feet. With out hesitation Isaac ran over and grabbed Jackson's hand. It was so sweet. But as soon as they gave him his first shot, Isaac covered his mouth in astonishment and back pedaled away from the baby. Within seconds Isaac, Makayla, and Jackson were all crying. I didn't know who to comfort first. It was sad but we got through it.

Melissa Webster (My sister-in-law went into labor last night) 6 weeks early. Her water broke before 9 pm and now at 11:55 am she still hasn't had the baby. I hope she's doing ok. We're so excited for her. They're naming the baby Evan.
